CAS (creativity, activity, and service) is the important component of international baccalaureate diploma programme (IBDP) as well as one of cores of CWA student activities. CWA emphasizes that student are able to learn and grow in real-life scenarios. The core of CAS program is on the same page with CWA“knowing and doing” value. By creating a practical platform for students, train their leadership, apply knowledge, skills, and value to social service, and foster their life-long ability and attitude on learning and service. In CWA, we encourage students to conduct and attend various CAS activities, and build a multi-dimensional platform to guarantee student activities.

In addition, CWA designs unique ‘Sunday weekend field trip’ and ‘Project Week’ programs. The purpose of these activities is to cultivate students to focus on their national culture, understand contemporary social development, and update the progress in various industries. It will stimulate personal interests, and create opportunities for learning by doing. ‘CWA Forum’ will gather cutting-edge theory and updates in all professions, help students expand their horizons, acquire latest news and apply knowledge in real scenarios. ‘Sunday weekend field trip’ fully utilize local resources at weekends, in which students are able to broaden their visions, understand latest news and therefore understand what they have learnt through project-based learning and exploration process in reality. ‘Project Week’ is the updated version of exploration activities. In the longer time period, it gives students more opportunities for self-reflection, design, and action and also helps students build deeper contact and closer interaction with different communities. It allows students to ponder over the relationship between individuals, community, and society, and transfer the sense of service into practice.

As the sister school of UWC Changshu (UWCCS), CWA will also organize exchange activities with UWC Changshu. Therefore, CWA students will have the opportunities to express, show, cooperate, communicate, and even contest and compete on an international and high-end stage.

To help all CWA students plan their personal high school life more wisely and have a seamless transition to future colorful IB learning, CWA arranges a variety of preschool preparation activities specifically for CWA students and parents. We hope this series of activities could help CWA families:

• repare and adapt well for non-native languages
• Have a brand new understanding on the following high school life: it will be different from previous learning where they can always find standard answers. It requires students to learn to design study plans and arrangement that are more appropriate for themselves. Moreover, parents will have a refreshed understanding on and smoother communication with their growing children.
• Students and parents will have a basic understanding on IB curriculums and mandatory learning literacy for students.


1.CWA Lecture:In April, we will help students understand preparation work to get into IB international high school from students and parents’ perspectives. Through scientific analysis on students that top high schools and universities are seeking and broad overview of multifaceted backstage work of international schools, CWA helps students fight against anxiety, think over appropriate directions of school entrance and master high-quality educational resources and trends.


2.Parent Academy:It aims to help families with middle-school children entering international high schools from traditional public schools have a successful transition, provide parents with correct educational information, help parents master appropriate educational methods, guide parents to establish proper educational values and eliminate their problems and concerns.


3.Student Workshop:New students will be able to find their own hobbies and interests within multiple unique and meaningful online and/or onsite classes and therefore recognize themselves more explicitly and have full preparation for future college entrance.


4.1v1 Counselor Talk:It aims to help each student have a more explicit and comprehensive understanding on the following study and daily life and get ready for school based on their personal and family backgrounds before officially entering CWA.
